From his classic debut album, Make It Last Forever, to his Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award and over 25 years of hits, singer/songwriter Keith Sweat’s name is synonymous with R&B. Not much has changed with this living legend. With his smooth, sultry voice and music that romance has set its tune to for nearly three decades, Keith Sweat has sold over 25 million records, released 11 studio albums and delivered five straight #1 albums. The new album, Dress to Impress, Keith’s 12th studio album, promises sexy ballads, smooth grooves, flawless harmonies and heartwarming lyrics from the R&B veteran. A true music pioneer, Keith's influence can still be heard in today’s hits from artists like Chris Brown and rappers like Rick Ross and Fabolous. The album features a posthumous powerhouse, stirring performance by the great Gerald Levert. Dress To Impress also includes unexpected features from classic R&B groups Silk and Dru Hill. About the first single, Keith says, “With “Good Love” I wanted to bring back the romance and groove from yesterday and fuse it with the contemporary romantic feel of today. It’s all about good love and appreciating that significant other in your life,” says Sweat. The romantic ballad, “Just The 2 of Us” featuring Takiya Mason, is the second offering from Dress To Impress.

They're back! Canadian rockers, Billy Talent, deliver their fifth studio album later this month - and fans around the world are counting down the days! The album's lead single and title track was released back in May to a phenomenal reception and has proven that the band has dearly been missed. Now how cool is that!
They wowed audiences in America with their debut album 'Where It All Began' back in 2014 and we're thrilled to bring Dan + Shay's new studio album to South African audiences. The duo made waves when they released their new single 'From The Ground Up' in February this year, now followed by their sophomore full length offering, 'Obsessed'. The band put a new school spin on country music but still manages to stay true to the genre's roots on the record. If you're a fan of country music, we totally suggest that you take a listen to the duo's new album. It really is a work of art. You can get your copy on iTunes!
He's had hit single after hit single so it should not come as a surprise to that Jason Derulo drops his first greatest hits compilation this year! The album, titled 'Platinum Hits', features 11 of his biggest singles including 'The Other Side', 'Talk Dirty', 'What'cha Say', 'Wiggle' and many more. The album will also feature his brand new single 'Kiss The Sky'. All the tracks have been certified platinum (or multi-platinum) by RIAA. The release comes just over a year after the release of Derulo's 'Everything Is 4' album. If you're a fan of the multi-talented musician, you're definitely going to want to get your hands on a copy of this! It's available everywhere on 29 July 2016.

In the Dis Hoe Ons Rol music video Jack Parow and his buddy, Hardus van Deventer take the viewer on the road with them on an action packed adventure. But fans of Jack can also look forward to The Dis Hoe Ons Rol Single and Compilation album. This compilation album is a Jack Parow one stop hit shop for old and new fans alike. The track list is a mix of his most popular songs, songs that feature in the series and, of course, the TV show’s title track. It is a great introduction of Parow’s music to new fans and serves as a hot compilation for fans who’ve come a long way with him. Now some folks like their drinks with a kick in it and some folks don’t. With this in mind Jack Parow will release both censored and uncensored versions of the Dis Hoe Ons Rol compilation album.
Gucci Mane has announced today’s release of his hugely anticipated new album. “EVERYBODY LOOKING” – the iconic rapper’s first studio album in half a decade – is available now in stores, and all DPS and streaming services. “EVERYBODY LOOKING” was recorded in Atlanta over six days immediately following Gucci’s early release from prison last May. Due to an overwhelming response from his fans on the release of “1st Day Out Tha Feds,” Gucci decided to surprise supporters with a brand new album he recorded while on home confinement. The album is produced by Mike WiLL Made-It (Future, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign) and Zaytoven (Usher, Nicki Minaj), with additional production from Murda Beatz (Migos, Young Thug), Marz & Swae Lee (Rae Sremmurd, Beyoncé), Pluss (Beyoncé, Rae Sremmurd), Will A Fool (Future, Drake), and multiple GRAMMY® Award nominee Christopher “Drumma Boy” Gholson.
Among the countless highlights of “EVERYBODY LOOKING” is the new track, “Guwop Home (Feat. Young Thug),” available now at all DSPs and streaming services. The track is joined by a colourful companion video, streaming now at Gucci’s official YouTube channel. “Guwop Home (Feat. Young Thug)” received a slew of attention upon its release earlier this month, including notice from Pitchfork, MTV News, and Rolling Stone, which praised the track’s video for “(boasting) an overload of bikinis, producer Mike WiLL Made-It jamming out on his MPC poolside, stacks of cash and a scantily clad night soccer game, all to commemorate the release of the Trap God.”
In support of Gucci Mane’s highly anticipated release, Spotify and the legendary rapper have joined forces to build a one-of-a-kind multi-platform marketing campaign around the launch. Spotify and Gucci are giving hip-hop fans unprecedented access to exclusive video content that gives them an inside look into his life and the making of "EVERYBODY LOOKING." “I’ve had the concept for this album in my mind for years,” Gucci states. “The reception from my fans has been so overwhelming, that I knew I had to do something different for this release. I did not want to roll out this project the traditional way. I wanted to partner with Spotify to do something innovative and groundbreaking.”
Widely ranked among the most gifted rappers of his generation, Gucci has been incredibly productive since his long incarceration; this highlighted in a major profile piece in the New York Times to run in this upcoming Sunday’s paper. Some of Gucci’s major moves since release include performing at a sold out “Welcome Home Party” at Atlanta’s Mansion Elan, appearing in a recent promo video for SUPREME, and contributing to the blockbuster new single, “Champions,” performed by Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Travis Scott, Yo Gotti, Quavo & Desiigner; and announcing his new Delantic clothing line, with complete details to be revealed soon. As if that weren’t enough, Gucci was further greeted upon release with news of three new RIAA gold sales certifications for his classic 2009 album, “THE STATE VS. RADRIC DAVIS’ and its two hit singles, “Wasted” and “Spotlight (Feat. Usher).”

Following great anticipation, KORN - one of the most influential rock bands of modern times - today (July 22) have announced their 12th studio album, THE SERENITY OF SUFFERING. Produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones, Mastodon), the album will be released on October 21 and features a special guest appearance from Corey Taylor of Slipknot. It marks the band’s welcomed return to Roadrunner Records who previously released 2010’s KORN III – Remember Who You Are and 2011’s The Path of Totality.
KORN--Jonathan Davis (vocals), James “Munky” Shaffer (guitar), Brian “Head” Welch (guitar), Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu (bass) and Ray Luzier (drums)—performed the first single “Rotting In Vain” in front of 25,000 people during a thunderous set at Chicago’s Open Air festival this past Saturday, July 16. Today, fans everywhere can tune in as the song is officially released alongside its video with the launch of the album’s pre-order here: http://flyt.it/KORNSOS
“‘Rotting in Vain’ was written about being in that black place, being in situations that I don’t like in life--be it relationships, or feeling when you’re stuck and you’re just being abused or you don’t like where you’re at, and you just sit there and rot,” shares Jonathan Davis. “It takes you years and years to figure out how to claw your way out. That’s where ‘Rotting in Vain’ came from. I’m just sitting there, fucking dying and letting it happen for years and years and not helping myself to get out of that place. That’s the vibe that inspired the song.”
“Rotting In Vain”’s macabre video--which makes its premiere today via Rollingstone.com--captures the essence of the song. Starring “Sons of Anarchy” actor Tommy Flanagan along with KORN, the video taps into the dark underbelly of a bizarre world.View the video—lensed by famed rock video director Dean Karr--now here: https://youtu.be/nq9j1qkj2Vc
Earlier this week, the multi-platinum Grammy-winning rock band kicked off the “Return of the Dreads Tour,” their co-headlining summer trek with Rob Zombie and special guest In This Moment that crosses the U.S. through September 3. Beginning September 24, KORN will share co-headlining duties with Breaking Benjamin on the “Nocturnal Underground” fall arena tour, featuring special guests Motionless In White and Silver Snakes, that takes the band deep into the heart of America through late October. Additionally, KORN is also set to appear at the Louder Than Life and Aftershock Festival in October. KORN’s full tour routing can be found below.

The unique music style and soothing voice of Joshua na die Reën captivated listeners ever since the first notes of his debut album, “Joshua na die Reën”, in 2014. Ghoema music awards for Newcomer of the Year and Best Contemporary Male Artist, plus a Huisgenoot Tempo award for Best Newcomer, a Woordfees award for Best Solo Artist and theme songs for various films, television programmes and campaigns, saw the start to a successful career.
His success is celebrated this year with the release of a new album written and composed by this talented musician.
Lyrics and music that will give you goosebumps best describes Joshua na die Reën’s new album, “Die Wêreld Binne My” (The World Inside Me). His velvet voice is surrounded by interesting combinations of contemporary sounds and instruments, that was combined with great care to produce an end product that will captivate his fans once again.
“Ek is gebou, jy is gebou en die Wêreld binne my is in afwagting oor jou. Kom hardloop deur my woude, kom swem hier in my see. Wees somer oor my berge, want dis hier waar jy regeer - ek in jou en jy in my...” are lyrics from the single, Die Wêreld Binne My, that will be released soon by radio stations across the country. This song is a blend of compelling truths of life that will cause some reflection and moving melodies that will have you humming along.
“The title song is basically a combination of what I would like to say with every song on the album. That is all-in-one,” says Joshua na die Reën.
The song themes on the new album differ from the first album, which were about hope and dreams, but this time the theme is of a more personal nature and are about the world inside each individual.
Joshua na die Reën explains through the song titles,“Over the ‘Heuwels & Berge’, the ‘Stof & Sterre’, the ‘Droogte’, the times that everything feels ‘Stroomop’, the times when one dreams and the beauty in it all... the good and the bad times. The genre however remains Stadium Rock”.
He continues by saying, “Ever since we completed the first album, the theme of the new album has been churning in my head, being that there exists a world within each one of us that will never be understood by anyone. Our purpose is to allow other people into our own space so that together we can walk a path of appreciation regardless of our differences. Scenes from nature and people’s stories inspire me but it all came home the day I realised that the difficult times in one’s life is more often the best gifts if only you decide to appreciate it and learn from it, otherwise it may turn into your biggest foe, awaiting you at every turn.”
There are sixteen original introspective tracks on the CD, of which the lyrics have been completed over a year ago, but over time they all developed and grew into hit songs that will be life changing.
“The greatest challenge is to always get the specific emotion across of what I feel when I experience the things I sing about. So things were done a little differently with this album. A variety of sounds and instruments were used to create the feeling and image we wanted to portray. The challenge was to not lose any effects during the mixing and mastering processes, which resulted into an extended mastering process of nearly seven months but ensuring that the listener will be treated to the full effect. I am very pleased with what the producer, Ben Ludik, and my brother, Pierre de Villiers, have done with this project. It is seldom that you find people that will give their all and I am very thankful. Additionally, the voice recordings were not done in studio. I personally made recordings with my microphone and laptop as and when I felt the inspiration and that in itself was very special”, says Joshua na die Reën.
Although he does not want to make a personal exception, Joshua na die Reën believes that listeners will appreciate the title track Die Wêreld Binne My, Stroomop, Stof & Sterre en Dromers the most. The theme songs from the Afrikaans movies, Vir Altyd, as well as Voshaarnooi and Ballade vir ‘n Enkeling, also forms part of the playlist.
One of his longtime dreams came true when the album was recorded in collaboration with the TUKS Camerata Choir. During 2015 they performed together in a number of concerts under the auspices of Michael Barret, and decided to incorporate the choir in the recordings of Die Wêreld Binne My. On the 13th of March 2016, the choir performed with Joshua na die Reën in the Aula Theatre at the University of Pretoria, to introduce the public to the full repertoire of the album. “It was such a privilege to work with the choir. This was something that I really wanted to do. The dimension that was created, reverberates like an age old echo. It will be a dream come true to tour the country with the choir sothat the public can experience the effect of this brilliant choir accompanied by a band”.
Joshua na die Reën has, apart from Huisgenoot Skouspel, shared the stage with well known artists such as Elvis Blue, Jak de Priester, Amanda Strydom, Laurika Rauch, Richard van der Westhuizen, Die Heuwels Fantasties and many others and hope to still work with many other musicians to gain valuable experience. Other items on his wishlist is to do an overseas tour and to perform a song with Elvis Blue. But for now, the focus will be on new music videos and the marketing of the new album.
As an artist, Joshua na die Reën believes that music can express emotion when words fail, as is the case with Die Wêreld Binne My, which forms a collection of moving soulful music that invites you to open your heart and undertake the journey of humanity. This indeed can only add to the winning recipe of Joshua na die Reën.
Born and raised in Swaziland and now based in Johannesburg, Apple Gule is one of the country’s fastest rising stars and making quite an impact on the industry with his Soulful-Pop hits and collaborating with the likes of Da Capo.
Apple Gule recently released his Handwritten EP, which features the hit single ‘In Your life’ and is busy working on his debut full length album. ‘Wave G’Bye’ is the first single to be released from the forthcoming album.
Apple Gule is excited for the release of the new single, especially after the great success of ‘In Your Life’ on South African radio. “The success of ‘In Your Life’ has been a bit surreal. It's my first real single and has just gone on to open up the craziest doors for me and it's crazy to think it’s only the beginning of this awesome journey,” exclaims an ecstatic Gule.
Watch the music video for ‘In Your Life’ here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIU9EkfMph0
On the new single Wave G’Bye Gule explains, “The new single ‘Wave G'Bye’ has been a journey, it was difficult to find a new single to follow up on ‘In Your Life’ but I just had to be honest and tell a story and this song is a continuation of that story. Life is a funny thing but it all makes it worth it in the end.”
South African super electro group GoodLuck are children of the 90's, so when they decided they wanted to do a cover song, they chose a song that remains a vivid memory from their childhood. ‘I’ve Been Thinking About You’ by Londonbeat is a song that they remember falling asleep to under the table as their parents danced well into the night. GoodLuck's take on this song was quite different from the original uptempo 90's pop, which they still secretly love. For GoodLuck, 'Thinking About You' is a fragile story of yearning for lost love. Jules' interpretation of the lyrics has inspired a vocal performance that is vulnerable and beautifully gentle. This coupled with the edgiest production that Ben has ever created, gives 'Thinking About You' a modern and relevant twist on a timeless classic. In this latest single, GoodLuck takes the tropical/chilled house sound and pushes it into a completely new frontier. GoodLuck’s music is an irresistible blend of electronic pop with subtle influences of jazz, creating a sound that is uniquely their own, performing to audiences across Europe, Africa and the UK over the past 3 years. Their high-octane performances have earned them a credible place amongst other artists in the live-electronic genre. GoodLuck have shared stages with Groove Armada, Bassment Jaxx, The Petshop Boys, Bakermat, Goldfish and Paul Oakenfold to name a few. GoodLuck have performed at sold out concerts in Amsterdam, Berlin and London.
Ross Jack and Sony Music Entertainment Africa are proud to announce the launch of Ross Jack’s much anticipated sophomore album ‘Self Medicated’. 2 years in the making, Ross wrote and recorded his sophomore release 'Self Medicated' between Johannesburg and the UK where Ross had the opportunity to work with London based producer Pete Martin (who has previously worked with Danny K, Sugababes and Dannii Minogue). This collaboration resulted in more than half of the final tracks on the album. In Ross’ words “Those two months in the UK were an urban adventure that set the tone for the record. The music became a film score, with the city the underlying visual element that runs through this album..." Ross says: "With Self Medicated I've learned more about process of creation & recording & I feel its way more authentic... and is definitely my best work to date."

“Little bit of Matthew Mole with some One Republic and Ben Haenow mixed in there” – Gavin Edwards on his forthcoming CD
|Gavin Edwards (Credit Canton Parker)|
I recently saw a video of The Voice SA runner-up Gavin Edwards singing Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time with former Westlife singer Brian McFadden. It was recorded way back in the day. I saw then what South African people only came to realise with The Voice SA this year - Gavin was a born star! If thus no surprise to me when it was announced that Universal Music South Africa gave him a record deal, about time! So I got in touch with Gavin to talk to him about his passion, those tattoos and I found out he is also quite a hit with elderly ladies!
1. Congratulations on being signed by Universal Music! Did you sort of expected this and were you also looking for a record deal after The Voice SA? Thank you first off what an awesome day it was when Universal said they wanted to sign me and that they had their eye on me since my Blind audition , I knew that Universal was watching everyone on the Voice and keeping a eye out for who they wanted to sign but you just never know and you keep hoping and praying that they see something in you that they love. Man what a great feeling knowing that they saw something that made them want to sign me and make me a part of their family .. every artist /singer/muso dreams of that day. What a day ..
2. So how has life been treating you after The Voice SA? Life after the Voice SA has been amazing , apart from the Universal Deal , myself and my wife Bianca are 2 and a half months away from our baby boy’s birth and we moved into a lovely home right on the water at Harteebeespoort! To top it off, I got a call to be a part of gospel Skouspel which is a massive blessing to be a part of. . Plus I recorded and released my first single "Sparks " which got to No1 on iTunes the first day of release which blew us all away!! Denholm Harding from Just Jinger produced it and he has been a long-time friend of mine so it was awesome to get into studio with him. We have teamed up with Jason Oosthuizen formerly of Van Coke Kartel and Jack Parow, and we are busy putting together a nationwide tour, so loads of gigs coming up. What a year, to say the least!
3. Your first thought the morning after the finale? Excitement. . Could not believe it was over as the show became the centre of our lives, but immediately I was excited for the future.. and to get home to my wife, as was missing her madly by the end.
4. You have a quite a story thus far - from rock star to super star. Looking back on your career, what would you say were you biggest mistakes and what advice can you give to youngsters who dream of becoming a rock star? My biggest mistake which is one of many was that I used to self-sabotage without knowing it, and of course drink enabled that very well. If I can offer a little advice I would say that if you want to be among the biggest stars in the world or country understand that they are 100% dedicated to being professional and at a level that looks like perfection. They work harder than they play, so in short spend more on perfecting your craft/voice/talent and before you know it you will be standing on stage among all the big names and you will be ready to perform at that level... preparation is everything. Practice practice practice.
5. When will your CD be out and have your any idea as yet as to the direction of the music and maybe duets/collabs, like Bobby, on the CD? The album will be out mid to late September and the direction will be like the first single Sparks. . Little bit of Matthew Mole with some One Republic and Ben Haenow mixed in there and collaboration wise ... we’ve got some ideas but still in talks. Bobby and I did speak about singing a song together so you never know!! lol
6. What is the 1 thing people don't know about you? I love DIY and I used to work with my dad when I was young with his building company, so I learnt a lot there. I'm actually pretty good! I’m busy painting our new home and fixing everything up…
7. The last time you cried was... Ha ha, watching TV, it was the judges’ house rounds on X-Factor
8. The first CD you ever bought.... Guns & Roses Use your Illusion 1 and 2
9. Your most embarrassing moment was.... Played a gig once in my boxers lol!
10. Can you tell us about funny fan encounter? An elderly woman asked for a photo and she had clearly been enjoying her wine that day - maybe a little too much! While her friend was struggling with the phone to get the camera on, which felt like forever, she kept kissing my cheek every 5 seconds until the photo was done. It was hilarious and actually very sweet.
11. I like tattoos and I see so do you, so I was wondering how many do you have, and any meaning behind them? I think I have 8 - some are blending together into a sleeve. But I’ve got the flames on my right arm which was the sinner and on the left I’ve got Faith and Ask, believe and you shall receive, as well as one of my sons names, Jaydon, which is on my “saint” arm.. So it’s the sinner & the Saint - gonna try keep adding to the Saint arm, of course!!
12. Who is your celeb crush? Sia , but that crush is more on her vocals and songwriting , one day hopefully I'll get to see her face…
13. One of my female readers wanted to know if you are single? I am a taken man, and have been happily married now for 3 years to my beautiful wife Bianca Edwards (Bella).
14. What song do you like to sing in the shower? I tend to whistle these days , it's an irritating habit for those who have to hear me!
