It's a big round of applause to local acts Liquideep and Spoek Mathambo who both received nominations for this year's Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards. A MOBO is one of England’s top musical prizes. Liquideep and Mathambo are nominated in the Best African Act category, in which they face competition from well known African musos such as D’banj, Fatoumata Diawara and Wizkid. Winners will be picked based on fan voting and will be announced in Glasgow, Scotland on Wednesday 5 October. The ceremony will feature performances from the likes of Boys II Men, Jessie J, Katy B and Alexis Jordan. Jason Derulo will co-host the glittering event.
