The sultry sound of multi award winning songstress, jazz and
Afro pop queen Judith Sephuma resonates with many. She arrived in the music
industry with her popular song A cry, A smile, A dance, a single from her debut
album with the same title and went on to be one of the most popular and loved
jazz artists in the country. Judith Sephuma has released her much anticipated
fourth studio album titled “I Am A Living Testimony”, it is a 10 track album
featuring an array soulful tracks. Some of the songs are in Sepedi or Zulu and
although many may not fully understand some of the words the melody still
speaks to the soul. Most songs are inspired by love, songs like “Write me a
letter” while others are a testimony of her faith such as “I am a living testimony”
and some are just simply songs about the ups and downs of life. Although not as
popular and successful as her first album which put her on the map as one of
the top female musicians in the country, diehard fans of the songbird will
definitely appreciate the effort put into the album. (By Tsholofelo Kgosimmele)
