80s with a dash of electro goth

For those who remember the 80s classic song Obsession by the band Animation, here is a brilliant cover by South African outfit, Terminatryx. The video for the song was directed by Terminatryx co-founder Paul Blom. The voyeuristic / supernatural music video concept has a man watching the band members in four different locations via spy-cam, while the "Obsession" music video plays on a laptop. But all is not well...The voyeur is played by Theo Crous (Springbok Nude Girls; K.O.B.U.S.). He was also a part of the song's production with the guitars and live drums recorded and mixed at his Bellville Studios (vocals, programming and other production at Flamedrop and iRONic). Theo also contributed additional guest rhythm guitar to the song. Categorization has been difficult with the band’s dark blend of female-fronted, electronically infused Industrial Metal-scapes, but in addition there are many musical elements subtly filtering through across the diverse songs, from Alternative-, Hard Core- and Punk flavours, to Electronic-, Dark Wave- and Gothic hints.
