The 2012 Heineken Symphonic Rocks will offer
unique
performances from
Van Coke Kartel, Fokofpolisiekar, Toya Delazy, and aKing.
MiCasa and Zahara, Tumi & the Volume, Freshly Ground's Zolani, Just
Jinjer's Ard Matthews,and ChianoSky are some of the other acts confirmed for
this musical extravaganza that will again takes place at The Grand Arena Grand
West Casino, Cape Town on 29 September, before moving onto The Big Top Arena,
Carnival City on 6 October. Heineken Symphonic Rocks artists range from rock to
pop, adult contemporary, R&B, hip hop, electro and soul, all set against
the onstage backing of a 65-piece symphonic orchestra. The audience can expect
to hear a range of almost 30 hit songs, each painstakingly rearranged by John
Walton from the Cape Town Pops Orchestra. Each band or singer will be backed by
22 violins, eight violas, six cellos, four double bases and a harp, and that's
just the string section! Also on stage will be full woodwind, brass and
percussion sections. Tickets cost R200 to R225 in Cape Town and R225 to R250 in
Joburg, and can be bought through Computicket now.
