Kudos for country starlet
Taylor Swift who is throwing her
creative outlet behind the fight against cancer. Her latest chart-topper is
Ronan, a song about a real-life 3-year-old,
Ronan Thompson, who died last year
after a heartbreaking battle with cancer, sung from the perspective of his
mother, Maya Thompson.
Nydailynews.com wrote that ’Ronan’ is a touching
tribute, written mostly from "Maya Thompson’s own words from her blog,
about memories of her son and the pain of losing him." Taylor performed a
song she wrote for him, “Ronan,” at Friday night’s Stand Up To Cancer telethon.
It was the first time Ronan’s mother, Maya Thompson, had ever heard the
tune.
“It was very emotional, a lot of
tears,” Thompson told the Daily News. “I had a hard time focusing on the words
that were coming out of her mouth, because I was focusing on the emotion in her
face. “You could see the sadness, and how touched she was.” Thompson’s blog is
where Swift learned about Ronan in the first place. Thompson launched
RockstarRonan.com after her son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, and used the
blog to chronicle his struggle with the disease and his death in May 2011,
three days shy of what would have been his 4th birthday. Watch the performance,

ReplyDeleteYes, because we all know that song is the bridge to our soul so it has a big impact to our emotion. I love Tailor Swift :)
