Johnny Clegg |
South Africa's most famous white Zulu and musician
Johnny
Clegg, is taking his highly acclaimed 'A South African Story' show to the Royal
Albert Hall in London on Wednesday 27 March 2013. What makes this big news is
that Johnny boy will be the first solo South African act to ever perform at The
Royal Albert Hall. Says Johnny: "The Royal Albert Hall is a very
prestigious venue and the last time I played there, I was a support act for
Steve Winwood in 1989. It's with great excitement and anticipation that I look
forward to headlining my own show in this venue some 23 years later." On
his return to South Africa, Johnny, who is known in France as
Le Zoulou Blanc
(The White Zulu), will be performing on 7 April at The Kirstenbosch Gardens,
Cape Town. He will be returning to The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City for two
shows on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 April. On 16 April Johnny Clegg will be
honoured by the University Of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) with an Honorary Doctor of
Music degree.
