If you like the late 1980s electro synth pop of OMD and
Depeche Mode, than Hurts second CD, Exile, should be something that appeals to you.
It's not a masterpiece as their first/debut CD, so don't expect any fireworks.
The thing that's lacking on Exile is there's nothing ground breaking that gives
any real excitement. I'm not saying it's a bad release, but rather a 8.5/10
where their debut was a 9/10. The final track, Help, on this 12-track CD is by
far the true gem. It has it all: skilful piano (thanks to Sir Elton John),
powerful synth, epic lyrics, and all in all epitomises what Hurts are all
about. Give the CD a listen, you might just be surprised.
