Usually when a super star announced a new single, the music
world is a buzz, but unfortunately for us, Justin Timberlake's first single Suits & Tie
from his new yet to be released CD, The 20/20 Experience, was a bit of a
let-down. It wasn't quite what we expected. Not bad, but not your typical JT
song. Then we heard his new song, Mirrors. AWESOME!! When Justin Timberlake
announced his comeback last month, the song many were immediately drawn back to
was 2002's 'Cry Me A River'. A ballad that not only secured his solo star
status, it also achieved a rare feat for a male artist such that it boosted his
street cred despite its salacious lyrics about you-know-what. He's essentially
repeated the trick on 'Mirrors' which, despite musical shifts in the
intervening 11 years and the absence of a cheating girlfriend, still manages to
sound remarkably fresh. "It's like you're my mirror/ My mirror staring
back at me," he tells his lover over head-nodding Timberland beat boxing
and grandiose strings, before spilling his guts about how he should never have
left them in the first place. The result could only be better if it was
dedicated to you-know-who. Listen to the fantastic new song, HERE!
