Local rockers Wonderboom and Sugardrive are in shock after
the sudden death of their drummer, Garth McLeod. Rolling Stone reported on
Friday that Wonderboom frontman Cito confirmed the death on Friday. Channel24
reported on Sunday that tributes and messages of condolences to McLeod and his
family have been pouring in on Facebook and Twitter. Former Van Coke Kartel
drummer Justin Kruger wrote: "I am absolutely devastated by the news of
the very tragic passing of the most incredible friend and person known to man
Garth McLeod!!!! You are the last person that deserves to be taken away from
us! Rest in Peace Boytjie!" "A truly sad loss for SA music. R.I.P Garth
McLeod - legend human and incredible drummer for Sugardrive, Wonderboom.
Condolences to all," Just Jinjer tweeted. Another friend said: "What
a terrible tragedy. RIP Garth. Condolences to Anne-Mari, Garth's family and his
friends." Garth is survived by his wife Anne-Mari.
