Local music fans are in for a BIG treat when
BBC
Entertainment (DStv channel 120) will broadcast a non-stop 6 hour broadcast of
the highly celebration British music festival,
Glastonbury 2013. Starting at
19:00 on Sunday 30th June – the final day of the festival – the six-hour
broadcast will run without break and feature highlights from Friday, Saturday
and Sunday performances. Glastonbury Festival is the largest and most revered
open air music and performing arts festival in the world and a template for all
the festivals that have followed it.
One
of the most hotly anticipated music events globally, Glastonbury regularly sees
over 150,000 festival goers coming together in a huge tented city to experience
something truly memorable.
The festival
has played host to some of the biggest names in music including Beyonce,
Coldplay and U2 and musical greats Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and
David Bowie. This year will see The Rolling Stones, Mumford & Sons,Example,
Public Enemy and many more.
