Punk rockers Green Day will take a "break" after
their upcoming Australian tour dates. Digital Spy reports that Green Day's
Billie Joe Armstrong explained that it is "nice" to work on other
projects away from Green Day, such as his collaboration with Norah Jones on a
reworking of the Everly Brothers album Songs Our Daddy Taught Us. Speaking
about Green Day's future, Armstrong told BBC Radio 2's Jo Whiley: "We're
going to Australia, doing a tour there and then we're going to take a break.
"We haven't really been doing much. So it's just nice to kind of do some
other things, y'know, [then] when we get ready to do Green Day again, our
batteries will be charged."
