Porter Robinson has revealed ‘Lionhearted’ the propulsive
next single from his highly anticipated debut album ‘Worlds’. The driving
alt-electronic anthem is an infectious, radio-ready track that showcases
Porter’s pop prowess and superior song craft. Featuring surging vocals from
Swedish indie outfit Urban Cone, ‘Lionhearted’ pushes-and-pulls between ambient
sighs and power chords resulting in one of the summer’s most undeniable jams.
‘Worlds’ kicks off with the swelling ‘Divinity’ featuring Amy Millan of Stars
which trickles into the brand new #1 HypeM single ‘Sad Machine’ (Porter’s vocal
debut in a duet with a robot) which premiered via FADER and was selected as a
top track of the week by both Billboard and Stereogum upon its release in May.
The album’s first single ‘Sea of Voices’ trended #1 on Facebook when it was leaked
to Porter’s fans via Twitter during the Oscars earlier this year and quickly
shot to #2 on the iTunes electronic chart and #5 on HypeM, #5 on Spotify’s
viral chart. It has surpassed more than 1 million Soundcloud plays to date.
Additional album highlights include the glitched-out avant centerpiece ‘Fellow
Feeling’ which swells from violin-driven sentiment to industrial static, before
settling into palpitating chords, and ‘Years of War’ a radiant synth pop track
propelled by a fuzzy beat featuring Breanne Duren (Owl City) and Sean Caskey
(Last Dinosaurs). ‘Hear the Bells’ featuring Imaginary Cities prolongs the pop
euphoria and ‘Polygon Dust’ a swelling electronic pop tune featuring Norwegian
duo Lemaitre, who will open for Porter on the ‘Worlds’ North American Tour.
