As a 13-ear-old boy back in 1984 my parents were a bit
worried about me. Firstly I sucked at playing rugby, I weren't interested in
girl and that I spend all my pocket money on buying 7 singles, 12" singles
and vinyl records (yes, that was still years before CDs were released in South
Africa. Besides being labelled the 'odd one out' in school, my little universe
were populated my Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Ella Mental,
Juluka and many more. Those were the most exciting times in my musical
upbringing. Here I'm sharing some of my favourite songs from 1984.
