Generation X kwaito trio gives back to the
needy. Nyanga East location in Cape Town is known for crime but Generation X is
willing to turn it around.
The trio
consists of three members. Prince William, Lwazi Thami and Thulani Sombo all
from Nyanga East. On the night of 3 October Linda Dyaluvane’s matric ball
became a dream come through. The trio managed to raise fund and organized her
desired matric ball.
They organized a
matric dress, Limo ride and goodies for the after party. “It took us three
months to get everything together and we are happy to put a smile on her.”
says William.
18 year old Linda stays with her aunt and 13 siblings in a one room
Barcelona informal settlement, she looks after all of them.
This touched Generation X hearts and they
took it upon themselves to help her. Two months back the Kwaito trio started
Generation X Foundation, which is all about giving and touching lives. “ This
is not the end of helping hand, we would like to open up a fund that will help
her to get a home so she can share with her siblings. “ adds Thami. The trio
took time and even organized grocery items for the family.
“It felt so good, I was so happy when they
came up with everything. I am now ready to write and pass my matric. I am so
great full for Generation X,” says tearful Linda. Generation X is derived from
the power of X post-apartheid and the group is about bringing change. The
kwaito trio is now seeking support from companies and individuals on their
Build a home project.
