In a year where rock music is again mainstream, rock is the
new pop and every rock songs sounds the same, it's always a big relief when a
CD comes your way that blows the rock music out of the water. Gore, the 8th
studio album from American alternative metal band Deftones, puts a fresh dark
twist on rock in music landscape that is filled with bland rock. The songs transcend
through heavy and soft moments. There are distortions and hypnotic songs. All
blend into one for a perfect offering. If you listen closely you can almost
hear the sound they created on their 2006 CD, Saturday Night Wrist. For Gore,
the standout tracks for me are Prayers/Triangles, Doomed User and Hearts/Wires.
Brilliancy captured on one CD. A must for your collection.
