‘Wasted’ is a welcome dose of different for South Africa’s
exploding dance scene. The track brings together an unlikely trio to deliver a
refreshingly unique blend of electronic, dance and hip-hop. Garth Barnes, Laco
and V-Way hail from genres that couldn’t be further from each other, yet
somehow they manage to blend these influences to deliver what promises to be a
massive Summer Anthem.

Barnes, better known as the front man for SA rock stalwarts
CrashCarBurn and Tweak confesses: ‘This is something completely different for
me. I have had so much fun experimenting with a track that is just in another
universe from where I normally play!’
Newcomer producer/artist Laco lays down the beats for the
track, and while he is a fresh new name to SA audiences, he has already chalked
up an impressive CV in a very short space of time. Laco’s debut feature on
CNSRD’s track ‘Bunny Park’ spent over 7 weeks on the 5fm dance chart where it
peaked at the number 1 spot!
Just when you thought you knew where the song was going,
V-Way of X-factor fame chimes in with a verse to keep you guessing. “The minute
I hear Laco’s beat I knew we had a smash,” admits V-Way. “Two weeks later I’m
in the studio with the guys and the song is sounding ridiculous! I can’t wait
to see where ‘Wasted’ takes us.”
