Two of South Africa's top gospel musicians
Rebecca Malope and Lindelani Mkhize won prestigious international Gospel awards last week. MIO reports they were honoured at the second Africa Gospel Music and Media Awards (AGMA) held on 9 July at the Lighthouse Hall in London. Mkhize, who is the co-founded Joyous Celebration fifteen years ago, was recognised for his contribution to African gospel music. Malope received the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as the Best Video award. South Africa-based Nigerian singer Uche Agu of my “God is good” fame was named as the Best gospel musician for 2011. Founded in 2009, the AGMA serve as the face and voice for the African gospel music community.
