It's time to put on your party dress as world renowned DJ, Deadmau5, is set to tour SA this year! Although no dates have been confirmed as yet, Deadmau5 tweeted, "honestly, ive never seen such excitement over this South Africa tour announcement... i seriously cannot wait to arrive! :D get ready!" Deadmau5, also known as Joel Zimmerman, is from Toronto and is an electro, and house producer. His last CD released was in 2010 with 4x4=12, which features the hits Sofi Needs a Ladder, Animal Rights and Bad Selection. As well as his own solo releases, Deadmau5 has worked alongside other DJs and producers, such as Kaskade, MC Flipside, Rob Swire of Pendulum, Skrillex, and Steve Duda under the BSOD alias. He is known for often performing in a titular costume head, which resembles a mouse head, that he originally created while learning to use a 3D program. The name "deadmau5" originated when Zimmerman found a dead mouse in his computer while he was replacing his video card. He discussed this with chat room users and became known as "that dead mouse guy." His nickname "Dead Mouse" was too long for the IRC character limit, and was then shortened to deadmau5.
