There’s a feeling brewing amongst the Bittereinder boys: 2012 is the 012’s year. Not that 2011 was a bad or even an average year. Having won a SAMA for “Best Alternative Afrikaans Album” and being nominated for two TEMPO awards, it’s safe to say that the three Pretoria bred musicians showed 2011 a thing or two. It does however feel necessary to warn everyone in advance to call the ambulance, because this year’s beats are going to be sicker than ever before! At the moment Bittereinder is busy working on their follow up album after receiving rave reviews for their debut album ‘n Ware Verhaal. The much anticipated second offering will hit the shelves before the end of the year and one of the tracks, “Die Dinkdansmasjien” has already brought fans to their feet and up in the air at live shows. Peach, Jaco and Louis are planning to bring out all the stops and are already busy working with some of South Africa’s most prolific artists. The album will feature guest appearances from the likes of Toast Coetzer, Hunter Kennedy, HemelBesem and Andries Bezuidenhout, to name but a few and will ensure that Bittereinder break into new dimensions of sound and lyric.
