Smashing Pumpkins' remastered Gish and Siamese Dream CDs |
One of the biggest and most influential alt rockers in the world, the Smashing Pumpkins have sold over 30 million albums and to date have notched up 5 UK Top 10 albums and 11 UK Top 40 singles. The first two CDs, Gish and Siamese Dream, have now received the full remastered treatment, and come in deluxe 2 CD/DVD, standard 1 CD and digital formats. Both albums come bursting with bonus content and special features hand-picked from the band's archives by founding member, lead-singer and main songwriter Billy Corgan. Both deluxe CDs will each include a bonus disc of rare and previously unreleased gems, which include demos, mixes and live radio performances to name a few. Billy Corgan wrote on the official Smashing Pumpkins site about the two re-releases: "Gish - Recorded in 1990 and 1991, 'Gish' represents our first foray into the deep waters of rock and roll. In the music within, I still hear our naivete and fresh spirits asking to be heard, and I miss the times that helped make this music so earnest. Siamese Dream - In 1992, with the weight of a perceived world on our shoulders, we disappeared into a parking garage to write the songs that would change the course of our lives forever. 'Siamese Dream' represents all of our dreams coming true, while the dreams of a happy band fell apart."
