Fresh from performing at One Night in Cape Town, alongside
International acts like Eagles of Death Metal, Bullet for my Valentine, Seether
and Enter Shikari, local rockers
Van Coke Kartel is hitting the road this
September and October to once again bring their unique rock ‘n roll sound to
venues across South Africa.“We love being on the road and performing every
night. That is what we do!” says Wynand Myburgh, bass player for Van Coke
Kartel. The band will also be a part of Heineken Symphonic Rocks.
This is the first time an Afrikaans band will
be included in the line-up.
Van Coke
Kartel will be accompanied on stage by a 65 piece Symphonic Orchestra. This is
one show that should not be missed. “We have always wanted to be part of Heineken
Symphonic Rocks and this year it is happening. We are looking forward to the
dynamics of performing with a 65 piece orchestra!” says Wynand. This month Van
Coke Kartel will be going into studio with Theo Crous to work on some new
material that will be released next year.
Wynand says that “it is 10 months since the release of our last album
Wie’s Bang and time to put down some of the new material that we have been
working on. We are not 100% sure when and HOW we will be releasing the new
material. For now we are focusing on producing great tracks. We are also
working closer with Theo on the new material as we liked his input on Wie’s
Bang.” For more details of where you can catch them live, visit
