Depeche Mode |
Electro synth pop/rock group
Depeche Mode has finally
revealed their new single,
Heaven. It's soft electro pop at its best. Think
“The Things You Said,” from 1987′s Music for the Masses, but with more of the
well-placed guitar touches that propelled 1993′s Songs of Faith and Devotion.
It has hints of their ballad hits A Question Of Lust and Somebody, but with a
more of an electro Sound Of The Universe touch mixed in. You have a pulsing melody, those weird industrial sounds set to Martin Gore’s majestically dark lyrics, as
conveyed by that impossibly fragile nihilist Dave Gahan. It's not bad at all,
and me being a Depeche Mode junkie, was quite surprised that they have released
this song as a lead single for their new CD, Delta Machine, which will be out
next month. Watch the video for the song,
