Snoop Dogg, once known as Tha DoggFather, now reincarnated
as the peace-loving
Snoop Lion, is extending his tour of South Africa in May.
He was only set to perform in Durban on 18 May as part of the MTV Africa All
Stars Tour, the Computicket website reveals that Snoop will also perform in
Cape Town and Johannesburg, news that is sure to put a smile on the hip hop
star’s many fans around the country. In an official statement about the
upcoming tour, Snoop said: I am honoured to bring this important message of
peace and love to South Africa. This is the motherland and a place of so much
history and strife. I hope that this concert reminds us it is also a place of
joy, love, celebration and peace – which is very much in line with where I am
as an artist right now.” Included in the tour line-up are some of the biggest
names in South African music, with the likes of Professor, Teargas, DJ Tira,
Zakes Bantwini, Big Nuz and DJ C’ndo.Snoop Lion will perform in Johannesburg on
19 May at the Ellis Park Indoor Arena, before travelling to Cape Town for a 21
May show at the Grand Arena at Grand West Casino. For information on the MTV
