His Purple Highness is back with something better than
expected. I was a huge fan of Prince in the 1980s, but found his CDs of the
1990s and 2000s a bit bland. Not exciting me or just something I'll listen to
for a few seconds before skipping to the next track on my mix CD. However, with
Art Official Age, Prince's 33th CD, he is sort of coming back to his roots.
It's timelessness funky best with guitar funk, pulsing EDM beats and a booty
bass. I was surprised I actually enjoyed the CD. It was a pretty good solid
release which ignited my interest in the enigma that is Prince. Some of my
favourite tracks on this CD includes “Clouds”, “Gold Standard”, “Breakdown” and “Breakfast Can Wait”.
