Acclaimed South African Pop Star Toya Delazy shared the
glowing new music video for her latest single ‘Forbidden Fruit’. Forbidden
Fruit was shot in Cape Town and was directed by
Kyle Lewis from Dirty Soul Productions. Forbidden Fruit, the lead track
from Toya’s new album ‘Ascension’ has moved quickly up the SA Top 100 chart
thanks to nationwide crossover radio play listing. Forbidden Fruit grew from a production
collaboration with industry stalwarts Craig Massiv & Troydon Murisan –
known now as Loskop . Toya describes the ideas behind the track: “You love who
you love. This life has no rules, there is no instruction manual, we don’t live
to find ourselves, we live to create ourselves…” After walking away with three
South African Music Awards in 2013 for her gold selling debut album Due Drop
and a 2013 BET Nomination for Best International Act (Africa), Toya Delazy
announced the release of her brand new album ‘Ascension’. Ascension is
characterised by a crystal clear artistic vision and was formed through Toya’s
unique writing process & significant production collaborations, both local
& international. Craig Massiv & Troydon Murisan, Shane Cooper, Ross
Jack & Toya herself formed the heart of the production team, with US based
Fresco Kane & Jazziel Sommers adding an international flavour to the collab
credits. The key artistic collaboration comes from Cassper Nyovest appearing
guest feature on the anthemic ‘My City’, earmarked to be the album’s 2nd
single. Check out the video, HERE!
