The Voice SA winner Richard Stirton released his debut single ‘What Tears Me The Most’ and it has already reached the Number 1 spot on the South African iTunes charts! Richard has been on a rollercoaster ride since winning The Voice SA on M-Net on 22 May having already earned his first major accolade of an iTunes #1 with his rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘The Sound of Silence’ from the hit show. Of this incredible journey Richard said, “These have been the most surreal last few months and I cannot believe I finally have the opportunity to start releasing original music. I am feeling very blessed and I hope that everybody enjoys the music I have to share.” He recently recorded his first original single, What Tears Me The Most, over a number of days in Johannesburg in early June. This heart-warming single was penned by Brit Awarding winning artist James Bay and is perfectly suited to Richard’s organic, authentic voice and magnetic sincerity. Talking of his single, Richard says “I hope that people are able to connect with the song on a number of levels, but especially a lyrical connection, because at the end of the day music is all about the message.” Richard is currently working on material for a full length album set for release in early August.
