CD REVIEW: KB - Run Free: The Evolution (GALLO)

Keabetswe Motsilanyane, famously known as KB, takes the listener on a journey of musical discovery on her 6th album. KB, who soap fans will know from Rhythm City, delivers a fusion of Afro-Pop, R&B, Latino, House and Jazz music that can only be described as brilliant. The 14-track album, which includes a remix of the song Let It Go, is an absolute gem. KB introduces new sounds and to do this, she worked with young and talented (Kalawa) producer – DJ Navy and co-composer Nqobi. Although the Kalawa team predominantly do House music, the final product is a must for the ears. KB also worked with friend and fellow artist, an artist who prefers the hip-hop scene, Tuks. He is featured on the first single off Run Free: The Evolution titled My Way. Songs to look out for on the album are Run Free, Deeper in Love, Let it Go, Rise up and Kwalilwa.
