Soul Superstar Maxwell to tour South Africa

Get ready for soul superstar Maxwell. This chart-topping, arena-filling singer, songwriter, musician and producer will be in South Africa to perform two concerts only on Thursday, 5th December at Cape Town’s Grandwest and Saturday, 7th December 2013 at the Coca-Cola Dome, Johannesburg, both concerts begin at 20h00. Tickets go on sale on from 09h00 on Thursday, 5 September 2013 at Computicket. Maxwell is ready to give old fans and new ones a sensory experience that he never fails to deliver.  Get ready South Africa, Maxwell’s on his way!  Celebrated for his show-stopping performances, Maxwell is a crowd-pleasing entertainer whose remarkable talents are recognized with a host of international music awards and nominations. He received twelve GRAMMY® Award nominations and two awards at the 2010 “GRAMMY ‘s” for Best R&B Album for “BLACKsummer’sNight” and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for  “Pretty Wings” also from BLACKsummers’Night. During the same year, Maxwell received an Image Award for the most Outstanding Male Artist. Throughout his highly successful singing career of more than 20 years, Maxwell has been nominated an incredible twenty-five times for various awards including the BET Awards, the American Music Awards and the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards. He has received four TRAIN awards in various R&B/Soul categories in 1996, 2000, 2009 and the 1999 Billboard Music Award for R&B Single of the Year: “Fortunate”. This mega entertainer has also performed at the GRAMMY® Awards and the BET Awards and he has appeared on major television network shows including The Jay Leno Show, the Late Show with David Letterman Show, Good Morning America and CNN Heroes. Maxwell’s music spans the genres of R&B, funk, neo soul and jazz.  He released his debut album Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite which went on to sell over 2 million copies, earning him double platinum status and a GRAMMY nomination.  His second album “Embrya” followed and a live album MTV Unplugged was next.  A year later Maxwell released “Fortunate”, a single written by R. Kelly and featured on the soundtrack for the 1999 film, Life. Maxwell’s third album “Now” reached No.1 on both the Billboard 200 album chart and Billboard’s R&B album chart. After taking an extended hiatus from the music industry, Maxwell returned with BLACKsummers’Night which became his second album to reach number 1 on the Billboard Albums Top 200 chart.  The second album in the trilogy SUMMERS will be out in 2014.
