Ed Sheeran's CD X tops UK album chart for 8th week

Well done Ed! The singer's highly acclaimed CD X has topped the UK album chart for the eighth week running. Digital Spy reports that X becomes the joint longest number one album for a British male solo artist, equalling James Blunt's Back to Bedlam, which claimed the number one spot for eight weeks in 2005. X has now also spent the longest consecutive time in the number one spot since Adele's 2011 album 21.
