Rising super star!

Cape Town based singer-songwriter Cofield Mundi is making waves on US radio. The US market seems captivated with her 2006 album Ceremony and two songs from the album, “Count me out “ and “Days”, are  currently charting on US Billboard  charts. Cofield has always been a strong voice on South African radio with her soulful acoustic pop and striking original songs. But the sudden race up the charts has taken both her, and her local label Universal Music, by surprise. Universal’s Benjy Mudie says he sent a copy of the album over to The Adult Contemporary Research Letter, one of the most influential Adult Contemporary websites that recommends new music to that market . The Adult Contemporary (AC) format is the biggest music genre in the massive US market. “Cofield’s sound just seems to capture the spirit of the times and the international demand for this deeper acoustic lyrical sound like Adele and Taylor Swift is really huge right now. Cofield is right up there internationally,” says Mudie.
