Local rockers The Dirty Skirts are launching their much anticipated new album, Lost In The Fall, at Zula Bar in Cape Town on Saturday 23 July. The album was recorded at Heritage Studios in Cape Town, produced by Neal Snyman, mastered at Sterling Sound Studios in New York and released through 2 Feet, an imprint of Sheer Sound cc. Lost in the Fall is quite different from any previous offerings from THE DIRTY SKIRTS. Whether it's an evolution or a sudden change in direction - it’s heavier in parts, and it’s deeper in content. They have written some of the most complex and interesting music of their careers so far. To them, Lost In the Fall is the best work they've ever done and it is reflected in the 12 tracks of deep, beautiful and intense music. “LITF is a visceral, dark, lyrical and dreamy album. It's our finest work to date, and we've poured our heart and soul into it.” Our intention going into this recording was to take control of every aspect of the process. We've known what we wanted it to sound like, and asked Neal and Brendyn to assist us to realize the vision. Recording at Heritage Studios with Brendyn (Rusti) was a sublime experience. Rusti is a great ear to have in the studio when you put down your tracks. His role was much more than engineering the recording process - he's been a vision in his own right, and very, very supportive. Neal's role was to mix the album, and we achieved some really creative and exciting sonic executions with him.”
