Classic British invasion 2012: The Moody Blues, 10CC & Procol Harum

The Moody Blues (Big Concerts)
The legendary English rock band, “The Moody Blues”, is set to perform in South Africa next year. Accompanied by Special Guests, “10cc” and “Procol Harum”, the much anticipated tour is scheduled for 30 May 2012 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town and 1 June 2012 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. Since they first hit the rock scene with the release of their monumental 1967 album DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED, The Moody Blues have continued to produce music that bridges the gap between classical and pop-rock genres without ever wavering in their integrity and commitment.  Featuring the altruistic inflections of guitarist/vocalist Justin Hayward, bassist/vocalist John Lodge and drummer Graeme Edge, The Moody Blues’ sound has held its ground with exquisite harmonies over and over again, in a genre of music that is ever-changing.  Since their formation in England, The Moody Blues have created music time and time again that offers rock music a depth that is unprecedented and inspiring. The Moody Blues have sold in excess of 70 million albums worldwide and have been awarded an astonishing fourteen platinum and gold discs. Their incredible roster of hits include:  “Nights In White Satin,” “Ride My See Saw,” “The Story In Your Eyes,” “Isn’t Life Strange,” “Question,” “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band),” “Your Wildest Dreams,” and “I Know You’re Out There Somewhere,” to name a few.  The Moody Blues’ No. 1, Top 5, Top 10, Top 20, Top 40, Multi-Platinum, Platinum and Gold albums and singles, have generated sold-out tours on a consistent basis over the course of several decades, making them one of the top-grossing album and touring bands in existence. Deriving their name from the metric total of semen ejaculated by the average male, the tongue-in-cheek British art-pop band 10cc will be the Special Guests on this tour.  Noted for their studio polish, advanced musicianship, impeccable vocal performances, and clever lyrics, 10cc first became successful for their classic singles that often parodied classic rock styles or satirized modern life.  10cc have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide on the strength of hits such as “Dreadlock Holiday”, “I’m Not In Love”, “Things We Do For Love” and “Donna”.  10cc feature the original members Graham Gouldman on bass, guitars, vocals and Rick Fenn on lead guitar, vocals, and bass. Procol Harum are a British rock band, formed in 1967, which contributed to the development of progressive rock, and by extension, symphonic rock. Their best-known recording is their 1967 single "A Whiter Shade of Pale" along with other hit songs “Homberg”, “A Salty Dog” and “Conquistador”.
