Fans of Madonna can rejoice! The original Material Girl has been confirmed as the halftime act at next year's Super Bowl. According to the official press release, her performance will be 'imagined' by Cirque du Soleil, choreographer Jamie King and multimedia artists Moment Factory. It is suspected that the singer will perform songs from her new yet untitled CD as well as some old favourites. The Super Bowl halftime show is the most-watched musical event of the year in the US, with over 162 million viewers tuning in to watch last year's performance by the Black Eyed Peas. Other past acts at the event include The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney and U2.
