Rockers Coldplay is getting their own comic book. Digital Spy reports that Coldplay have teamed with Bongo Comics on a Mylo Xyloto miniseries. The title is scheduled for release in February 2013, but the publisher will have copies of issue #1 available at San Diego Comic-Con International this week. Coldplay conceived the story based on the character from their fifth studio album, with the plot being written by Kung Fu Panda's Mark Osborne. "The comic is the latest expression of a music-driven feature animated film that the band and I started developing several years ago," said Mark. "It is the story of Mylo Xyloto, a young Silencer on the front lines of a war against sound and colour in the world of Silencia. Mylo discovers that the enemy he's been trained to hate his whole life might not be the enemy after all. There will hopefully be many, many connections for people who have heard the album. I am beyond thrilled with the way it's turned out." A limited supply of the exclusive edition of issue #1 will also be made available from the Coldplay online shop.
