CD REVIEW! Taylor Swift - Red

Red is Taylor Swift as you have never heard her before. A mixed lucky packet of treats that excites your musical taste buds in every way. The CD, her fourth, is refreshingly upbeat that leaves your wanting more. The whole album seems to have a narrative swirling around the subject of boys, relationships and exes — the story of a girl who has grown up but is still making mistakes, in some cases willingly but overall appreciative of the never ending learning curve that is life. As Taylor explains the title of the CD, "All the different emotions that are written about on this album are all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years. All those emotions - spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that - in my mind, all those emotions are red. You know, there’s nothing in between. There’s nothing beige about any of those feelings." Red is another chapter in one of the finest fantasies pop music has ever constructed.
