Kylie and Mariah release new songs

Aaah, a new year and some new music! Mariah Carey and Kylie Minogue have both release new songs that are featured on the soundtrack from two movies. Mariah Carey's new single 'Almost Home', taken from the movie Oz The Great and the Powerful, has leaked online in full. Almost Home' is produced by Stargate and is already available on iTunes. Oz the Great and Powerful stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz. According to Digital Spy, the movie is a prequel to the story of The Wizard of Oz and is about magician Oscar Diggs (Franco) who ends up in Oz and meets three witches (Kunis, Williams and Weisz), who all believe he is the wizard of their dreams. Mariah is currently a judge on American Idol alongside Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and show veteran Randy Jackson.
Ozzie pop princess Kylie Minogue has also released a new song called 'Whistle'. The singer collaborated with Icelandic band múm on the track, which is available to download from iTunes now. 'Whistle' is taken from the soundtrack to Jack and Diane, the romantic drama starring Juno Temple and Riley Keough. Minogue also makes an appearance in the movie. múm member Gunnar Tynes met with Minogue in London back in 2011, where the pair recorded the song. "It is not the typical pop song we might have written for Minogue but we rather wrote it with the film in mind," Tynes said of the track. Kylie recently signed a management deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation and plans to release a new single "soon", followed by her 12th studio album.
