A World Premier on MTV

MTV (DStv Channel 130) has announced that the “2013 MTV Movie Awards” will see the exclusive debut of the never-before-seen official teaser trailer for the long awaited second installment of Lionsgate’s “Hunger Games” film franchise, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”. To celebrate the premiere, the film’s star Liam Hemsworth will officially give the world its first glimpse of the film. The teaser trailer will then be available online at HungerGamesExplorer.com, in partnership with Internet Explorer, after it airs on television. The debut marks the first footage released of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” ahead of its scheduled release date on 22 November 2013. The trailer will premiere during the live telecast of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on MTV (DStv Channel 130) on Monday 15 April at 03:30 am CAT (The 2013 MTV Movie Awards will premiere live on MTV Base on Monday 15 April at 03:30 CAT (repeat: Tuesday 16 April @19:00 CAT). “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” begins as Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson).   Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.  “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
