Kurt Darren announced the
official release of his new wine “
Kaptein Red Blend” this weekend on the 1st of
December at Val de Vie Estate in the Paarl-Franschhoek Valley.
A select few of Kurt Darren’s close friends,
music partners as well as media guests were invited to enjoy a wine tasting at
the Val de Vie Polo Club Restaurant. Pasella filmed the processions of the day
that included a polo lesson and
private
brunch with Kurt who revealed the concept behind his new venture and his love
for the Cape winelands. The Rhone blend is a delightful combination of
Mourvedre, Shiraz, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsaut – made exclusively for Kurt
Darren by the Val de Vie Estate winemaker, Harold Versfeld.
A burst of red fruit, red berries, strawberries
and cherries with nuances of well integrated oak makes for an easy drinking and
sociable wine. According to Darren, his love for quality wine has accompanied
many inspired moments that birthed the lyrics of his well-known songs. The
Kaptein Red Blend is a celebration of the success of the star’s 19-year career
in the South African music industry, “Wine is a bottle full of lyrics waiting
