Alt. rockers Alice In Chains' Hollow has hit No. 1—again!—this time topping the Active Rock radio chart. That follows five consecutive weeks during which the song maintained the No. 1 slot on the Mainstream Rock radio chart. Not bad for an almost-6-minute-long song that was never intended to be a single. Initially released over as a fan-driven lyric video, “Hollow” struck a chord with radio programmers, who bypassed traditional procedure to put the song on air. Rather than wait to receive an official edited track from the band’s label, stations have been playing “Hollow” in its entirety (the song is almost twice the length of the average radio single). Over the course of the weeks that followed, the track’s radio spins increased exponentially, making it the No. 1 Top Gainer at Active Rock for six consecutive weeks. Hollow appears on Alice In Chains’ upcoming album, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, due out this May.

A couple of months ago I got an urgent SMS from my youngest sister in Australia: "Go listen to the song Thrift Shop and watch the video. It's HOT!" I'm always interested when I get a message like that because she has a touch for picking hit songs before they're a hit. I listened to the song and LOVED the video! And now it's a huge radio hit here in South Africa. Seattle rapper Macklemore gets ghetto fab - "Thrift Store" style - in his latest single about ... well, shopping at the thrift store. It's a must-see for those lookin' to be fly on the cheap: In the video, Macklemore and producer pal Ryan Lewis scour area thrift stores for everything from fur coats to batman pyjamas to cowboy jackets ... straight BALLER. The track and its hilarious lyrics and sax-tastic beat appear on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' new album, The Heist, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. Thrift Shop is a viral sensation that's funny and captures the hipster zeitgeist perfectly and it's a hip-hop song with some naughty words... Watch the video for the song, HERE!

Ozzie pop princess Kylie Minogue has also released a new song called 'Whistle'. The singer collaborated with Icelandic band múm on the track, which is available to download from iTunes now. 'Whistle' is taken from the soundtrack to Jack and Diane, the romantic drama starring Juno Temple and Riley Keough. Minogue also makes an appearance in the movie. múm member Gunnar Tynes met with Minogue in London back in 2011, where the pair recorded the song. "It is not the typical pop song we might have written for Minogue but we rather wrote it with the film in mind," Tynes said of the track. Kylie recently signed a management deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation and plans to release a new single "soon", followed by her 12th studio album.

Ok, we hear all the little girlies screams of joy (and it's quite irritating) with the mere mention of the name Justin Bieber. Fans of the Prince of Pop should flock to Believe Acoustic; this highly-anticipated 11-song album offers acoustic versions of eight songs from Justin’s worldwide multi-platinum #1 album Believe. Included are acoustic takes on four of his biggest radio hits: “Boyfriend,” “As Long As You Love Me,” “Beauty And A Beat,” and “All Around The World.” Delighted listeners will also find acoustic renditions of album tracks “Take You” and “Be Alright,” as well as of “She Don’t Like The Lights” (originally a bonus track on the deluxe version of 2012’s Believe). All acoustic tracks were co-produced by Justin Bieber and his guitarist Dan Kanter. As if that weren’t enough post-holiday pandemonium, Believe Acoustic also introduces previously unreleased songs “Yellow Raincoat,” produced by Justin and Tom Strahle, “I Would,” produced by Da Internz and Aaron Michael Cox, and “Nothing Like Us,” written and produced solely by Justin, which gives fans an unprecedented and intimate glimpse of young love. Fans can also expect a live studio version of “Fall,” from Believe, likewise produced by Bieber and Kanter. This is great treat for Beliebers and nice way to prepare for his tour of South Africa this year...and it makes a good Valentine gift...

Grammy Award winner Adele's acceptance of her award on Sunday evening at the Grammy's in Los Angeles got rudely interrupted by Ukrainian TV journalist Vitalii Sediuk, who now claims that he is not "a crazy guy". Sediuk, who was slapped by Will Smith on the Men In Black 3 Moscow red carpet last year after kissing the star, told The Hollywood Reporter that he got a ticket for the ceremony from friends after his channel failed to get accreditation. "My purpose was not get a seat and enjoy the view and enjoy the singers. Actually, I'm a reporter and it was part of my report," said Sediuk. "I've interviewed many A-list, so it's not like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm here'. I was quite excited because next to me was Sting, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé... it's a really cool experience, yeah?" He added: "The idea to come on the stage was last minute - last second. Grammy Awards 2013: Adele accepts a Grammy for 'Set Fire to the Rain'. "When I heard Adele - to be honest Adele is my favourite singer. I know all of her songs - like 'Set Fire To The Rain' - everything. "I had this idea to go on stage and say what I sad... I pretended the award was for me!" Sediuk said: "My purpose is to entertain and to show a different emotion of celebrities. I'm not a crazy guy. I just think differently." Sediuk was arrested and spent the night in a jail cell. He was released yesterday (February 11) after being charged with trespassing and given a March court date.

they had the crowd in their sweaty grip.
Die Antwoord's Wat Pomp Julle
Things got really crazy when Beastie Boys member Mike D joined Die Antwoord’s Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er with Red Hot Chili’s bassist Flea to do an awesome version of the Beastie’s So What’cha Want. I overheard afterwards a colleague of mine in the office saying that the “part where Yo-Landi ripped the heart out of a dove, was quite upsetting”. It wasn’t a dove you nincompoop! It was her own heart she ripped out of her chest for their music video I Fink U Freeky. They ended their set with the appearance of Casper The Friendly ghost, who apparently was very friendly as he was holding his dick in his hands.
Red Hot Chili time in Cape Town
Next up it was the Chili’s. Freaking awesome! They played a mixed bag of old and new hits and even going back to songs they recorded 30 years ago. Amen! Flea did most of the chatting to the audience with lead singer Anthony Kiedis sweeping up the crowd into a frenzy with their hits By The Way, Monarchy Roses, Under The Bridge, Californication, and Give It Away. The stage lay-out was simple, yet effective. The backdrop saw various images and video clips for certain songs while two huge screens flagged the stage on both sides. I think the band was quite surprised by the strong following they have in South Africa – especially seeing Anthony’s surprise look on his face when the audience sang every word for each song at the top of their voices. It was an insane hot rocking concert that kicked off the music year to a great start. Watch a video clip of the show, HERE! Next up is Metallica in April. Hope to see you there! (PS – To the drunk dimwit with the hat and fake sunglasses and Satan shaped face and beard – I saw your grab you girlfriend by the throat as the audience left the stadium. Shame on you! Sies man! Hope she kicks your ass back to wherever scruffy little place you came from…)
Waar was jy oral? Ek was vir 3 weke in Europa.
Enige sneeumanne gebou? Ek was 2 dae in Switzerland, Engelberg.
Ja, dit was my eerste keer.
Die show in Nederland was n groot voorreg.
Willem in Parys
En die laagtepunt? Ek was bietjie teleurgesteld oor hoe ongeskik die mense in Parys was. Ek dink net dis omdat Suid-Afrika se mense altyd so vriendelik is, dat jy verwag dit orals so gaan wees.
My eie huis, my familie en vriende.
Wat beplan Willem alles vir 2013? 2013 is n baie besige jaar vol shows.
Enige TV-shows/movies in die pyplyn? Ek het my eie radio show gekry op Rippel 90.5 in Pretoria, Maandag tot Donderdag so 17:45, waaroor ek baie opgewonde is.
